Michael Hurley to play at the United Theatre
WESTERLY — The legendary Michael Hurley from the band Holy Modal Rounders will be in Westerly next week to perform at the United Theatre.
“Michael rarely tours and we are very excited to have him coming to town,” said Sean Spellman, of Westerly Sound, who is co-sponsoring Hurley’s show with the United. “Michael is a living legend.”
Hurley, who grew up in Bucks County, Pa., fell in love with the music of Fats Domino, The Everly Brothers and Bo Diddley when he was a teenager in the 1950s. He listened to their music blast from the radio, and was enthralled by the records of Blind Willie McTell, Hank Williams and Uncle Dave Macon.
Don’t miss Michael Hurley live at The United on Saturday, September 22nd. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are $15 per person, available online or at the door. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS.
